Oscar Lucien Ono
The young designer, Oscar Lucien Ono, born in 1976 in Toulon, adored the paintings of Caravaggio and other Baroque masters as a child, and liked to change the look of the apartment where his family lived.
After graduating from a bachelor’s degree in economics, Oscar studied art history in Lyon, and then entered the Louvre High School in Paris, where he studied ancient art.
A meeting with a businessman in 2001 gave him the opportunity to work on the interior of a 500 m2 villa. Then, in 2003 he was invited by the collector Bertrand Chevreux to design his gallery – the DART
cultural center for contemporary art – with an area of 5400 m2 in Barcelona. In the same year, Oscar created “Oscar Ono Flooring”, a company specializing in the sale of high quality parquet flooring. This
business is flourishing and today there are many showrooms of the company around the world.
In 2004, Oscar Ono made himself known to the general public by taking part as an expert in the television reality show “Queer”, where he demonstrated his talents as a decorator, thanks to which he agreed to collaborate with major brands such as Dalloyau, Hôtel de Vendôme in Paris or the Time Capsule bar in Tel Aviv. In 2012, Oscar released the book A l’école d’Oscar Ono (At Oscar Ono’s School).
In the 2010s, Oscar founded Maison Numéro 20 Rive Gauche interior design house in Paris’ Saint Germain-des-Prés, where he and his team design interiors for private luxury apartments and villas in Paris, Ibiza, London and Miami. Bold, upscale style, a culture of comfort and harmony, and a personal vision of sophistication and elegance have become Oscar Ono’s trademark. In addition to private residences, Oskar also designs luxury hotels, bars and restaurants. His work includes an haute couture project for the Derby Alma hotel, a creative, playful space for the Maison Nabis hotel, and a fun, atmospheric belle époque at the revamped Paradis Latin cabaret bar and private lounges.
In 2019, Oscar Lucien Ono received the Originality Award in the Luxury and Creativity category at the ceremony of the Luxury and Creation Talent Awards.
